But why tell everyone? - - Glenn Reynolds wonders aloud why North Korea chose to come clean? He suggests that it is a preemptive move to distance them from Iraq, and what surely must be coming to them. Or perhaps they don’t fear us at all as Tacitus counters.

I’ll ask a question then. What if the two nations are working together? If North Korea has them, Iraq probably does too. Now we have a two front quasi preemption. This one within spitting distance of China. Get over it, let’s roll.

Why Weapons Inspectors are useless - - Sullivan has oodles of links on the North Korea mess. Meanwhile, hey look what we got. Aren’t we in a state now.

Loving this - - The always interesting Patrick Ruffini has some details on US territorial expansion, and why this is not just crazy talk. He does miss the ongoing heath care battle currently underway in what he suggests would be the 51st state, but hey whatever. If Alberta joined the US, health care would not be an issue, it would gladly go with the flow.

But the possibility is not a joke. The Kyoto treaty alone could be a “deal breaker” (read: nation breaker) for this country. Alberta especially cannot just stand by and allow its economy to get boned because our ailing Prime Minister wants a pet legacy project.

The key to his argument is that the western provinces would go Republican-hell we’d damn near kill to have a political party that could form a government! Would the democrats let this stand? Would they even consider it? Dreamers can dream.

Woody Harrelson village idiot - - The latest in a sea of ignorant Hollywood supercharged morons parading around the planet selling anti-Americanism, lies, and French like capitulation is former Cheers star Woody Harrelson. At least Woody chose to actually write his incoherent and tiresome leftism down, it is shame he doesn’t bother to get it published in a major US paper, the coward.

If Woody were in the Oval Office: “Easy: I'd honour Kyoto. Join the world court. I'd stop subsidising earth rapers like Monsanto, Dupont and Exxon. I'd shut down the nuclear power plants. So I already have $200bn saved from corporate welfare. I'd save another $100bn by stopping the war on non-corporate drugs. And I'd cut the defence budget in half so they'd have to get by on a measly $200bn a year. I've already saved half a billion bucks by saying no to polluters and warmongers.”

There is so much garbage in this ‘article’ that is complete nonsense it is hard to tell if Woody is simply an idiot or rather a hypocrite. I’m sure his driver would know for sure.

Has the world gone mad? - - Okay, your right I’m almost over the whole Carter-Nobel thingy, but then I read Robert Sheer’s latest despicable bit of toilet paper and get all worked up again. (Seeing media suck up John McCain on MSNBC’s Harball didn’t help either-nauseating is all that comes to my mind)

Here’s Sheer’s argument in brief: “While Carter has exhibited the patience of the peacemaker, a sweet Jesus for our time, willing to rebuke contemptible leaders while offering them a path for redemption, Bush has become a self-fulfilling prophet of war, delighting in the discovery of what he defines as immutable evil, thereby justifying an endless crusade against the infidels.”

Yes Carter as “sweet Jesus”. Lord almighty how do these morons sleep at night? Carter, he who allowed the modern terrorist movement to germinate on his watch and has been slobbering over and apologizing for dictators in the twenty-two years since he was tossed out. The notion that Carter was a peacemaker is an obvious falsehood. Where was the peace?

Michael Kelly keeps score: Bushes 2, Carter 0 - - More on the peace record of JC, that’s Jesus Carter, from Michael Kelly. This is a must read. (Via Eugene Volokh)

Why we need to take action sooner rather than later- - Later will always be too late. And of course there will be the long-term opinion on Clinton’s foreign policy. Much like Carter, Clinton slept (please ignore the puns) and made deals with dictators too. Not to be left out, it is after all one third of the axis of evil, North Korea announced that it is secretly seeking nukes too in violation of a feeble paper agreement with the Clinton Administration. They lied, continued on their path to nukes. What good is the ‘agreement’ now?

Is he dead? - - Israeli intelligence claims that Bin Laden is dead, but Al Qaeda is on the move without him.

Ah the Dutch - - How quaint. The government falls apart after three months.

Chirac the all knowing - - French president Jacques Chirac states that there is no connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq. Perhaps if he looked harder he might find a connection, or he might find out about the $2.16 million in food and wine he spent of the peoples money while he was mayor of Paris.

Meanwhile at the UN - - A UN human rights envoy is questioning the safety of Genetically Modified foods. Okay, actually this clown is “a special investigator on the right to food,” whatever in the hell that means. Basically, he says that all these NGO’s say that there is a risk over the long term, so they must be unsafe. And damn it the starving of the world doesn’t have to take them from the oppressive and profit motivated American corporations. The UN in all of its forms disgusts me, daily.

Genetically Modified? What up - - Can any bad come from this?

Why do we hate Saddam - - Well, reason number 544. He can serve all the tea, sherbet, and cookies he wants and he can terrorize his people into even voting for him; but he’ll get what is coming to him.

Cannot Resist - - Any opportunity to mock Michael Moore. Matt Welch has the nasty bits on this one, as a member of the left turns on one of their own.

Amusing Fairy Tale - - Great, Jimmy Carter has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Good for him. I suppose this is a step up from awarding it to any currently popular terrorist/thug, but come on. Check out the Carter Love-in throughout this AP story, and chuckle especially hard when you read about the $1 million windfall.

I especially enjoyed the head of the committee who is quoted as saying that the recipient represents a, “kick in the leg to all that follow the same line as the United States." For a peace award there shouldn’t be any kicking figurative or otherwise should there? Last year the UN, this year Carter. Who’s next?

Join Us - - That ever expanding pork chop known as the “EU” is set for expanding in 2004. Ten nations have been short listed for the expansion plans. I think that in the long term this is will be the lemon of politics-an AOL-Time Warner merger blunder that will end in splitting up eventually.

Seriously good for Ireland for messing the whole thing up. Then again, can any good come of an organization that lets the Irish decide? Yes I think it can. Have another Guinness and vote no to spite all of your buddies.

Selling Crazy - - Thomas Friedman details the fine art of being crazy, but not wild. The Vodka Pundit likes it, well until the last line.

How odd - - How very odd

Nice - - to see the editor of so much of my incoherent ramblings at EnterStageRight, Steven Martinovich has a bang up op-ed in the Washington Times.

The Tony Soprano blog - - Jeff Jarvis by way of James Lileks points out this amusing site detailing the deep thoughts of one Tony who woke up this morning and got himself a blog.

And one more thing - - Others proclaim that South Park Republicans are nothing more than small ‘l’ libertarians. Are we splitting hairs? Are they the same? Well I think not. You can distance yourself from the whole idea of libertarians specifically those who might be opposed to the war.

Win, win and you still can admire Brittany’s abs and liberty, while supporting the war. Or you could hang out with Al Gore and his buddies in Democrats. Not much of a choice is it.

Viva South Park Republicans - - Are Conservatives and Republicans having more fun? Good lord yes! Andrew Sullivan saw this article on “South Park Republicans” (a term he coined) at TCS. Thankfully I can admire Ms. Spears and liberty all at the same time! Is there any downside? Hazzuh for me.

Elvis still king - - New Album tops charts. Thanka-verra-much.

Clinton eats Burger…- - and backs Blair on Iraq. Good for you Bill, now can you do anything about your party?

Relevance of UN continues - - News that the United Nations is spending more than $1 billion, that’s billion’s friends, on a renovation/construction project of their headquarters. Surely even the UN could use the money for a better purpose than this.

Jessica Lange hates George Bush - - Oh my! Another Hollywood nitwit opens their mouth and spews retched trash. Enjoy your first amendment rights sister. Note that she made the comments abroad and not in front of a US audience. Now why would that be? See also Penny

Unbelievable yet true - - I had actually heard about this while in the Polar Bear Capital of the World earlier this year. Read it all here. It’s about bears.
